Over 1200 citizens, policy makers and natural resource experts in the Big Bend region wrote comments to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) requesting greater regulation of the Trans-Pecos Pipeline. Despite the appeals, FERC granted the required permit authorizing the Trans-Pecos Pipeline to proceed. These letters call into question the abuse of the power of eminent domain and connect this region to a larger national movement demanding accountability from FERC and other regulatory agencies. This library of letters serves as testimony of people’s love for the Big Bend region.
